We have begun our “Bury the Debt” campaign to pay off our mortgage on the
Education Building. We owe approximately $50,000 and we would like for that to be paid off by November 1st so that this account will not have to be considered when formulating next year’s budget!
In addition, we are selling niches in the Columbarium at 10% off the normal price.
Proceeds from the sale of niches have gone towards paying down the Education Building mortgage for the last several years; this is another way we can satisfy this debt. If your plans include being interred in our Columbarium, this is a perfect time to make the commitment.
St. John’s budget has changed considerably since the last time I was on the
Vestry. We have so many more important programs to fund including several important outreach programs, music, PRAYground, Creation Care, Children and Adult Christian Formation, Youth Group, Beloved Community, an Associate Rector, and so much more! These groups reflect an inward and outward love of our own congregation and those in our community. We can be proud of the time and effort that is being made by so many in our Parish to demonstrate how we interpret God’s love to each other and to the greater Wake Forest area. We are depending on each and every one of you to help us pay off the Education
Building mortgage. If 200 families gave a special gift of $250 each, that would erase the mortgage! Doesn’t that sound manageable? Please give this request your consideration and remember that this money could be spent in so many more meaningful ways at St. John’s. Every gift counts no matter how large or small; let’s please do what we can to help our church “Bury the Debt”! |
