Who We Are

St. John’s is an energetic, joyful, courageous, Christ-centered parish growing in diversity, depth of faith, and engagement with the world around us.

We are a big tent: black and white, gay and straight, progressive and conservative, young and not-so-young.

Together, we cultivate a life of faith and hope, practice hospitality and inclusive community, and inspire all to grow as agents of Christ-like love, generosity, and justice in the world.

We invite you to come and see what this community of faith is about. You may find just the kind of welcome, love, community, and sense of purpose you’ve been looking for.

What We Believe

Love God. Love Your Neighbor. No Exceptions.

We Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.

We look to scripture as the inspired Word of God, the wisdom of generations of Christians before us, and human reason to guide us in the life-giving and liberating Way of Love revealed to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; and we believe Christ calls us to follow the “Greatest Commandment” (Love of God & Love of Neighbors) as our first priority.

How We Worship

Worship at St. John’s embraces both the ancient and the new. It involves words and ritual that are as ancient as the Church itself, yet deeply relevant to the times in which we live.

Music at St. John’s brings together professional and amateur musicians of every age, inspiring our worship with everything from 17th century hymns to jazz saxophone.

We welcome children in all our worship services and strive to make worship meaningful for all ages.

Street Sign Zoomed

to be accepted

Come as you are – we will gladly welcome you and do our best to make you feel at home. So long as you respect others in our community, you’ll fit in no matter where you come from, what you’re wearing, who you love, or who you vote for. That is our commitment, and when we fail, we expect to be called to account.

CREATION CARE 3

to belong

We strive to love one another as Christ commanded, caring for each other at St. John’s and for our neighbor out in the community and in the wide world beyond. Getting involved in an active ministry helps build relationships of love as we share meals, play, study, make music, laugh, and serve together.
