Spring has indeed arrived here at St. John’s Preschool. Our classes are taking walks around our beautiful grounds on scavenger hunts looking for signs of spring, bugs, flowers, and birds. The Three and Four Year Old classes will receive two lessons from the Creation Care Committee. This week the lesson was on “Birds and Their Beaks” and next week the subject will be “Different Types of Bird Nests”. The children are looking forward to these lessons since they love looking out from their classroom windows to watch the birds in our native plants garden.
St. John’s Preschool offers a play based curriculum where we provide opportunities for children to explore, create, and engage in meaningful subjects that our students are interested in so that they have a natural motivation to learn. We have an amazing community of creative teachers who partner with parents to guide, support, and encourage young families through these wonderful preschool years.
Each morning I can hear our four year old classes practicing a sweet song for their upcoming moving on ceremony. The first verse is:
“If I were a butterfly, I’d thank you, Lord for giving me wings.
And if I were a robin in a tree, I’d thank you, Lord that I can sing.
If I were a fish in the sea, I’d wiggle my tail and I’d giggle with glee.
But I just thank you, Father for making me, me.
For you gave me a heart, and you gave me a smile,
You gave me Jesus, and you made me your child.
And I just thank you, Father for making me, me!”
We are so very thankful to our Heavenly Father for each of these precious little ones, that He has made them each uniquely and lovingly His!
