Beloved Community

Study, educate, pray and take action toward MLK’s dream of racial justice and reconciliation. This group is open to all in our parish. It meets about every two months for intensive study and conversation on topics such as white privilege, the problem of mass incarceration, and immigration; and they are leaders in our parish efforts to build Beloved Community with our Wake Forest neighbors across traditional boundaries of class, race, and religion.

St. John’s Supper Club

Twice per year, small groups of 7-10 people are formed and then meet monthly for several months in various homes or go out together for dinner or lunch. This is a fun and easy way to meet other parishioners and build new friendships.

Adult Formation

(Wednesday adult formation series)

A series of short (3-6 week) topical studies or Bible studies offered most Wednesday evenings in St. John’s Parish Hall. We begin at 6 pm and end with a short Compline service (night prayers) at 8:30 pm.

SAGEs

(Senior Adults Growing and Exploring)

Seniors 60+ gather monthly on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 11:45 am. We enjoy a potluck lunch, with an educational or entertaining presentation to follow. The group takes occasional outings as well.

St. John’s Book Club

All are welcome to read the book of the month and join in monthly discussion group as you are able and available. This group meets the first Monday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. Please contact Barbara Kwiatek for information on how to join the group.

Soloists
