Greetings!
I am a wordsmith nerd. I love words, their origins, how they are used, and the impact they can make. My brain thinks in letters and punctuation. I can’t help it. I start my day reading a bible verse followed by exploring the Merriam-Webster word of the day. And can you guess what my favorite board game is-(are you ready for it!?!)- Scrabble! Being a wordsmith nerd, I love quotations. They seem to neatly and concisely express so much in so few words. My favorite quotation is from Teddy Roosevelt:
Do what you can,
Where you are,
With what you have!
This quote has guided my approach to every aspect of my life: professional, religious, social, familial, and whatever else there is. Jesus directed his disciples to go out and do what they could in terms of spreading the gospel. They put their trust in HIM and ended up changing the world. That is nothing short of a miracle to me. All of the little deeds we do each and every day can have an impact that far exceeds our imagining. Each and every one of us has received our unique gifts from GOD that we are meant to share with those around us, whether near or far. We are his present-day disciples, spreading the Good Word through our thoughts and actions. Go out and let your light shine. You are so much more powerful than you think. |
