Our next Soloist social will take us to an entirely different venue: a Six Sundays in Spring concert at Joyner Park! Originally, the concerts were held at the Wake Forest College Birthplace downtown. Excluding the past two Covid years, this outdoor concert series has been ongoing for 27 years.
Sponsored by ARTs Wake Forest and the Town of Wake Forest Parks and Recreation, it’s free, it’s fun, and it’s a great way to experience this vibrant community we know and love as Wake Forest. All that’s needed is a folding chair, whatever you want to eat and drink (smoking and alcohol prohibited) or money for purchasing food and drink from area vendors. CLICK HERE to find out where and when to meet for the concert!
Carpoolers, please meet in the church parking lot, 5 p.m. sharp; those who wish to drive themselves meet us at Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, Wake Forest, near the Wake Forest Cultural Arts tent. Concerts run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. That Sunday will feature the popular soul/Motown sound band Liquid Pleasure.
Come join us, and please invite other parishioners–men, couples, children, and leashed dogs included!–to come as well. Joyner Park’s bucolic atmosphere infused with soulful music can be a great backdrop for making new connections! Questions? Please contact Helen Holt, hwholt09@gmail.com
