You are invited to join a conversation with a diverse group of faith communities in Wake Forest on race and housing.
Inspired by the work of Habitat for Humanity, we will gather on Zoom to watch the short film Segregated by Design (which you can also view ahead of time at this link.)
We will then break into small groups facilitated by church leaders from:
Friendship Chapel Baptist Church
Olive Branch Baptist Church
St. John’s Episcopal Church
Wake Forest Baptist Church
Wake Forest United Methodist Church
Recognizing that we all have different backgrounds, experiences, and expertise when it comes to the topic of race and housing, we encourage you to speak from your own personal experience and learn from the experiences of others in this Holy conversation. This is one way we can all fulfill the pledge we re-affirm each MLK Day: To continue the Christ-like work of Building Beloved Community.
Contact Joy Shillingsburg of St. John’s Episcopal Church at youth@stjohnswf.com if you have any questions about the event.
