PARISH CARE COMMITTEE
I have been asked to chair this new committee at St. John’s, which will bring several wonderful volunteer groups under one heading. Please understand this does not mean the many competent leaders for Lay Eucharistic Visitors, the Meal “train”, Birthday recognitions, the Prayer Team, Memorial/Funeral Receptions and Alzheimer’s support groups, among others, will change; but that we will have a conduit to help get people in touch with the right helpers when needed. We envision more connectivity for our parish families in need, such as cards when people are dealing with strife or joyous occasions, and eventually more groups to address needs of young and mature members as needs are identified.
Currently, if you have any cards you would like to donate, please drop them at the church office. We could especially use birthday, get well, sympathy and even blank cards to help us support our St. John’s families. Later, we will be looking for home visitors and other volunteers such as those who might be able to run an errand for one of our seasoned members or take someone to an appointment. You may feel called to add yourself to one of these groups, or you may receive a call from one of the wonderful leaders of one of these groups This is the “In-Reach” of St. John’s, which we excel at, and we are just building better communication to keep it up!
Blessings, Kitty Kovacs
